Peugeot to Field Diesel RCZ Coupes at 24 Hrs of Nürburgring


15 and 16 May 2010, two Peugeot RCZ take part in the Nürburgring 24 hours. A race to be held on weekends when the brand will celebrate its 200 years.

To mark the release of its cut off series, Peugeot RCZ, and the 200-year mark, which will be celebrated on 15 and 16 May, Peugeot will participate for the first time to 24 hours of Nürburgring. The run, well attended in Germany, meets each year 220 000 spectators. Peugeot by this participation is to contribute to the reputation of his new cut, in a market appetite for sporty cars.

In the category D1T, diesel between 1700 and 2000 cm3, Peugeot RCZ enter two 2.0 l HDi FAP who develop each 147 kW (≈ 200 bhp). The two parts are essentially RCZ parts of the series vehicle, with the exception of specific parts from service "competitions" Customer Peugeot Sport.

Both RCZ be numbered 200 and 201, to symbolize the 200 years of industrial adventure of the brand and will be controlled respectively by a French crew and a German crew Peugeot.

A static model of the car that will race the 24 Hours Nürburgring is being presented during the testing of RCZ and international media will be exhibited from April 12 to "Peugeot Avenue 'Champs-Elysees in Paris.
