Man Builds Life-Size Tonka Truck

TGR Staff

It all started with a  $700 Chevy Brad Doane found a 1984 Chevy truck parked on the side of the road with a "for sale" sign in it. Brad's family has been working in the towing business for over half a century and his mother was not surprised when he told her of his plan to build a life-size Tonka wrecker. "He had every Tonka there ever was," Lonna Doane told KARE 11 News.

In just a year Brad turned the old Chevy pickup he found on the side of the road into his boyhood dream rig. At over twenty feet long and ten feet tall the truck took a lot of welding, hammering, shaping, and skill to become the full-size toy it is today, all of which was done by Brad himself.
