Readers of “Sport Auto” award prizes to Lamborghini

The readership of specialist magazine “Sport Auto” has named the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera as “the Sportiest Car of 2010”. With approximately 27% of the readers votes, the newest super sports car from Sant’Agata led its class and beat the other competitors to the top position.

The open version of the Gallardo was also honoured: the Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder received a silver medal in its category. Some 8,674 “Sport Auto” readers voted for their favourite car in 15 road-going car categories as well as ten tuned car series in “The Sportiest Cars of 2010” poll.

The “Sport Auto” readers distinguished the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera as the top model in the Lamborghini range. Its evocative “Superleggera” (Superlight) badge refers to a driving machine of true sporting character and describes a high-performance and lean automotive athlete. In comparison to the already lean Gallardo LP 560-4 the weight of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera has been further trimmed by 70kg. One key factor is the exterior and interior components made from carbon-fiber. Lamborghini has been at the forefront in this material’s application for many years, and now the brand is extending its leadership even further.
