Based on A.J. Baime’s book "Go Like Hell," which tells the story of how Ford became the first American carmaker to win Le Mans, besting Ferrari. Michael Mann is in talks with 20th Century Fox to develop and potentially direct Go Like Hell, the real-life story of the famous competition between the Ford Motor Co. and Ferrari that led to Ford winning the Le Mans in 1966, 67, 68 and 69.

Based on A.J. Baime’s book, the Fox project recounts how a young Henry Ford II — determined to infuse new life into his family’s company — decided to get into the European racing scene.
Carroll Shelby and Lee Iacocca took the lead in building the Ford GT a car that could take on Ferrari and win. With top drivers like A.J Foyt, Bruce McLaren, Dan Gurney, and Ken Miles at the wheel, Ford was able not only best Ferrari but dominate Le Mans for years.

Insiders say the initial idea is for Mann to develop the script, which he would go on to direct. However, we have to wonder who do you get to play the cast of amazing characters such as Carroll Shelby and Dan Gurney? Post a comment on who you would like to see playing in this film... Our guess is that the Hollywood car guys will be coming out of the woodwork to be a part of a modern "Le Mans" movie.
