SEMA Project Fairlane Update III

by Michael Satterfield

It has been a blur over the last few days and lots of late nights working on Project Fairlane.  The car has gotten so much attention that it's going to be on TV and on display at the Meguiar's Car Crazy display.

Late nights in the shop...
So much has been done we plumbed the SSBC four-wheel disc brakes to our new Master Power Brake Booster and master cylinder thanks to Classic Tube. All of these products were really easy to install, just simply following the step by step instructions. If you are in the market for an upgraded brake system these complete kits are the way to go. Having cobbled together junkyard kits in the past these new kits are really the way to go.

The Goodyear Tires came and were mounted and balanced on the custom painted Cragar Eliminator wheels. Look amazing and really tie the whole look of the car together. We swung over to a local shop and picked up some classic Chrome Lugnuts. In the photo below the car is still jacked up but we installed all-new 1 inch lower Eaton Detroit Springs all around. The car has a great stance and should have a much-improved ride. You'll have to see what it looks like at SEMA.

One of the most exciting boxes to arrive this week was the brand new TKO-600 transmission from Tremec, this is the gold standard in aftermarket performance transmissions and we are so excited to have them supporting the project. The TKO-600 will be able to handle anything the 427 can throw at it.

In addition to the transmission the Hurst Shifter and knob came, these will give the car that classic 60's look while being a direct bolt on to the brand new TKO-600.

While we are getting the drivetrain installed, the guys over at TMI are working on the custom-designed interior that will be built around an exciting new seat that they will be unveiling at the SEMA show! Here is a sneak peek below!
