Ruth's Chris TasteMaker Dinner Series

TGR Staff

Ruth's Chris Steak House will uncork an unforgettable TasteMaker Dinner series by featuring Rombauer Vineyards. The nationwide, seven-dinner TasteMaker series provides guests with the rare opportunity to sample some of the finest wines in the world alongside several courses thoughtfully crafted by Ruth's Chris executive chefs. On February 28, select locations nationwide will host the first exclusive five-course dining experience of 2019 featuring pairings from the storied Napa Valley winery.

Rombauer Vineyards founders Koerner and Joan Rombauer shared a deep appreciation for the relationship between great food and wine. Family-owned for three generations, Rombauer's reputation is built on their commitment to world-class quality and family tradition.

"Rombauer Vineyards is a wonderful selection to kick off our 2019 TasteMaker Dinner series," said Abdiel Aleman, Vice President of Culinary Development for Ruth's Chris Steak House. "In addition to having great wines, the family also has a legendary culinary history dating back to Irma Rombauer's book, The Joy of Cooking. It was those recipes that inspired our chefs to innovate and create five delectable courses, which promise to make for an unforgettable evening of pairings for our guests."

The first course will feature a glass of Rombauer Sauvignon Blanc, a crisp and aromatic wine, paired alongside Pan Roasted Red Snapper & Crispy Yuca Cake. For the second course, guests will enjoy a glass of Rombauer Chardonnay accompanied by an elevated take on Potato Leek Soup, topped with chive cream and bacon dust. The third course is an homage to Ruth's Chris Louisiana heritage: New Orleans Inspired Bucatini, made with andouille sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, and fried basil. This dish is enhanced by a glass of Rombauer Merlot, known for its enticing flavors of dark fruit and supple tannins.

The indulgent main course will feature two undeniable classics: Filet with Garlic Herb Cheese Gratin, paired with a glass of Rombauer Cabernet Sauvignon, known for its rich complexity. Accompaniments to this course will be Buttery Roasted Brussels Sprouts topped with dried cherries and bacon, and a fingerling potato & andouille hash. The evening will conclude with Triple Chocolate Cheesecake, topped with a Chambord crème anglaise and fresh berries, which guests can enjoy with their selection of coffee or tea.

Ruth's TasteMaker Dinners bring together some of the most iconic and up-and-coming winemakers in the industry for a specially curated night of great food, storytelling and memory making around Ruth's signature 500-degree, sizzling plates. The February 28 dinner with Rombauer is the first installment for the 2019 series.
