Grooming: Getting Ballsy

TGR Staff - 10/13/2021

Ballsy is one of those pithy men's brands that uses double entendre to market its line of grooming products, that are suppose to make your junk smell and feel better. The company was started back in 2017 and launched with an all-natural "Ball Wash" and has expanded to offer "Goodhead" shampoo and conditioner, Sack Spray and Pitstick deodorant, and a number of other products. But does it actually work or is it just another marketing campaign?

We would be testing the following:

Ballwash - Activated charcoal nut, butt & body wash featuring several essential oils.

Nut Rub - Solid Cologne An easy-to-apply solid cologne and skin balm.

Sack Spray - Sack Spray is a pH-balanced spray that neutralizes odor.

These three products make up what Ballsy calls the "No Sweat Kit" which sells $40.00.

Ballsy No Sweat Kit Review

The Ballsy products come nicely packaged and all have a nice scent profile, the "Nut Rub" which is a solid cologne is offered in five scents, our bundle came with Ocean & Air which had a nice clean scent with a hint of mint and lemon. While it is marketed as "Nut Rub" it really is just a solid cologne that could be applied anywhere. It dries fairly quickly but can leave you feeling a little greasy if applied to liberally.

The "Ball Wash" uses charcoal and other natural ingredients to help get you clean, with a light scent of lavender and cedarwood. Much like the nut rub, it really is just a body wash and isn't exclusively for use on your ball, at $15 for 8oz it would get pretty pricey to use for your everyday body wash so it might be best to limit it to hot spots.

Sac Spray by far is the best of the three products, it is designed to help you freshen up after a long hot day when you might not have time to take a shower. Designed to be sprayed on your balls using zinc and natural oils and plant extracts to help absorb moisture while deodorizing. The 2oz bottle is $15 which is a lot, but for travel and on the go it is well worth it.

Ballsy Review

While the bulk of the products seem to be high quality, they lean heavily on marketing and are priced at a premium. Does the Ball Wash make you feel any cleaner than another off-the-shelf body wash? Not really, but it does have a nice scent and is high quality. The Nut Rub wasn't something that we would recommend for your balls, but for a solid cologne it is fine and the pricing is reasonable. The standout winner is the Sack Spray which is great for guys on the go and travelers who might not always get time for a full shower.
