With
the state of the economy, the prospect of taking a vacation has been put on hold
for many people, leaving them no choice but to stay at home, but with the state
of the
housing market, many people are looking at alternatives from jumping into
the “van life” full time or at least taking extended holidays via their car, SUV,
or motorhome. Embracing the open road can be incredibly beneficial to the mind,
body, and soul, even if you are only a part-time nomad. Here are a few reasons
why you should pack your ride and explore new horizons on the road.
Preparing
for The Long Haul:
With
rising costs of living, everyone is looking to get the most out of every dollar,
especially when it comes to getting the most out of their vacation. While we
all would love to book a jet and find ourselves in an exotic destination, it’s
a cost
that we might not be able to afford. Taking a road trip in a motorhome,
camper/caravan, or rooftop tent, can be an affordable way to have a big adventure.
Plan ahead to stay at free camps or low-cost campsites, pack a cooler instead
of eating out, and sign up for fuel rewards programs to save a little extra on
gas. There are plenty of ways to go
camping for cheap.
Make
Lasting Memories:
The
best part about a road trip is the people you are with and the people you meet
along the way. If you are traveling with close friends and family be sure to
put yourself in the right
mindset, as being in close quarters can be taxing. Letting each member of
the group plan one of your road trip activities is a great way to make sure
everyone is getting the most out of the trip and gives other members a chance to
do something that they might not otherwise do. So get out the map ahead of time
and plan your adventure together.

are an amazing way to see the world, from exploring backroads to finding a new
place to park each night as you make your way across the countryside, it can be
an exciting way to experience new cultures and places. You might also just find
the place where you would like to settle in for a long time, maybe finding a cottage

a static caravan by the sea. Exploring on a road trip can be the best way
to find your next forever home. Unlike standard campers and caravans’
static-caravans can become your home away from home, or even your permanent
residence, and you just pack your car and drive to it.

While far-off lands and exotic destinations are exciting, so many of us miss out on the wonder and mystery that is in our own backyard. No matter where you are from there is a rich world of culture, art, history, and adventure just down the road from you, and a road trip is a perfect way to discover it. Stop in at the roadside attractions, visit the small museums, and seek out the beauty that is all around us. You never know, you might find your biggest adventure was just a short drive away.
