Hot Rod Defender by Himalaya

HIMALAYA Summit Series

by Michael Satterfield

The Land Rover Defender is one of the hottest new SUVs on the market today and while the modern Defender is nice, nothing compares to the original off-road icon that was born in the early 1980s. For Land Rover fans looking for the best of both worlds; the classic lines of the original Defender but with all the luxury and convenience of a modern SUV, HIMALAYA has just released their Summit Series.

Built from the ground up and packing a 650hp LT4 under the hood the HIMALAYA Summit Series is the hot rod defender that an enthusiast would build. In addition to the modern horsepower, the Summit Series gets Brembo brakes, proprietary four-link suspension with coil-overs, an eight-speed transmission, and an integrated roll cage. Inside a bespoke leather interior, modern climate control, and a premium sound system make the Summit Series much more luxurious than the usually sparce classic Defender.

LS Swapped Land Rover Defender

At HIMALAYA, our engineering team is always working to provide clients the very best, and our new Summit Series is a direct reflection of that commitment to create the very best Defender restorations in the world. This first Summit Series Defender is our first modern ground up-level creation. The truck features our own in-house transfer case that is built for increased horsepower. HIMALAYA’s engineers also included a special coil-over suspension that presents a vastly improved drive experience. Another great facet to this truck is Brembo partnering with us to provide a highly specialized braking system that works in tandem with the truck’s upgraded performance. This really is a next level truck, which is what our new Summit Series is all about.
