Nissan Reveals 80s Hardbody Inspired Frontier for 2021 Rebelle Rally

TGR Staff - 10/01/2021

Nissan revealed a customized Frontier inspired by the Nissan Hardbody champion off-road racers of the 1980s to take on the 2021 Rebelle Rally this October. Featuring the iconic red, white, and blue livery, updated by Nissan Design America in San Diego, this one-of-a-kind 2022 Frontier Pro-4X features a bevy of new NISMO Off-Road parts, including NISMO Off-Road 4-inch Lights, NISMO Off-Road Performance Exhaust, NISMO Off-Road Suspension Kit, and NISMO Off-Road AXIS Wheels.

The all-women 2021 Rebelle Rally, an off-road navigation rally across over 1,500 miles of Nevada, Arizona, and California desert. The rally kicks off on Oct. 7 at the Hoover Dam in Nevada with the finish line in California's Imperial Sand Dunes.

Nissan is the only automaker to compete with a factory-backed team every year since the launch of the Rebelle Rally in 2016. Team Wild Grace co-captains Sedona Blinson and Lyn Woodward are rally veterans and finished fourth-place last year.

The 2021 field is the largest in Rebelle history with some very formidable teams, we are one of them, and we are in to win. Having grown up in the '80s and knowing what the Hardbody means to Nissan's heritage, seeing our truck rendering for the first time was a legitimate lump in my throat moment.

The team is taking the recently released 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X which is the first Frontier made exclusively for the US market. The Rebelle Rally will be a fitting test to this new pickup and a win would give the new Frontier some much-needed hype in the crowded small pickup market. We recently drove the Pro-4X and felt it was one of the best new trucks on the market.
