Marlin Turns 150

by Michael Satterfield

In 1870, John M. Marlin launched his namesake company with one goal, to build the best guns in America. While the company would go on to produce a number of firearms, the gun they are most known for is their classic lever-action rifles. Today Marlin is the leading manufacturer of lever-action rifles thanks to their wider selection of calibers, including their model 1895SBL chambered in .45-70 which To celebrate its 150th anniversary Marin has released two special limited editions, a 444 Marlin lever action and a Model 60, .22 LR which is very similar to my first rifle.
